Acupuncture
The healing art of acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years, bringing relief of symptoms and disease to millions of people. In Chinese theory the body is seen to have a network of meridians in which Qi, or “vital energy”, flows. (This is similar to the circulatory or nervous systems.) When the Qi is balanced, the body stays healthy. When the Qi becomes unbalanced by trauma or stress, both physical and psychological, the dis-ease process sets in, eventually leading to physical symptoms. The longer the imbalance the deeper and more chronic the disease becomes. Acupuncture is a relatively painless process where very fine needles are placed in specific points along the meridians balancing the Qi and opening the possibility for the body to heal. Almost all diseases and discomforts can be treated as they are all seen as an imbalance of Qi. Most patients report that the treatments leave them very relaxed to euphoric.
